These coasters are made using my logo, which is the little inlayed cube that you may have seen in my pieces of furniture and other smaller items that were also created in my workshop.

There are 4 coasters in a set and they come tightly tied together and onto a small wooden base, ready to be wrapped by you if they are for a gift. These coasters are very tactile, smooth, light but sturdy and durable. They are great for gifts!

The “ego” coasters are quite a complicated design, as the 3 different wood species have to be cut at a very specific and accurate angle so when joined with another set of 3, they all blend into one new cube, resulting in a 3D illusion that proved to be very effective for such a long time but ultimately becoming famous at the era of some French king followed by instantly forgettable roman numbers.

The ego coasters are generally made in oak, cherry, sycamore, walnut, sapele, ash and elm, so I use the woods that show the most contrast between each other. A very effective pattern is made by using the same wood in one cube, but I still prefer the mixed one. If you would like a set of 4 ego coasters using the same wood, that’s not a problem.
